Yig Band Reject Filter
Teledyne Microwave has developed an "Advanced Technology" line of band-reject filters that breaks through conventional size, insertion loss, specification and reliability barriers.

These band-reject filters (BRF's) are smaller, lighter, more reliable, and can meet extremely deep and wide notch bandwidth specifications while maintaining narrow 3-dB bandwidths. While enjoying the deeper notch and wider notch bandwidth benefits of 7-, 10- and 16-stage designs, spurii are reduced, typically to levels on the order of 2 dB (versus conventional spurious levels of 4 to 5 dB). This reduction in spurious and increase in selectivity, notch depth and notch bandwidth was accomplished with an overall decrease in the filter magnetic shell size, to a 1.4 inch cube.
Features:
• Ultra-low insertion loss
• Reduced Size: 1.4" filter for 10- and most 12-stage units; 1.7" for 16-stage and certain 12-stage units
• More stages: 7, 10 and 16-stage standard designs
• Increased skirt selectivity: 42 to 96 dB/octave nominal skirt rolloff
• Increased notch depth: 50 to 100 dB
• Increased notch BW: 70 MHz @ -70 dB for a narrowband 16-stage unit
• Decreased 3 dB BW:150 MHz max, for a 50 MHz notch at the -40 dB point
• Decreased spurious: 2-4 dB, typical for a 16-stage filter
• Enhanced producibility: High production rates
• Increased tuning range: 4-18 GHz in a single filter
• Dual 8-Stage units available
These breakthroughs in BRF technology have resulted in the first practical design of a wideband notch filter tuning over the entire 4-18 GHz range in a single unit.
